these guys blew the roof of the kings theatre! if youve never had the fortune of seeing the voodoo pilots play live, get down to where ever they wash up next! with their amazing blues/rock style and out of this world stage presence they will absolutely blow your sweaty socks off. this was a wonderful headline performance from the voodoos, summoning the power of the pineapple once again to enrapture the crowd and have the folk on the street dancing along!

backstory: last year at Promfest in the lovely Leven, the voodoos played so hard that the generator turned off mid song! no worries for them of course they had their trusty mascot; a whole pineapple on stage with them. so they evoked said pineapple spirit and kept playing! soon enough the generator came back to life and the rest of the evening continued without a hitch!

now they didn't have to evoke their trusty pineapple spirit during this gig, but it sure did make a lovely addition to the set. I'm sure they'll never have to resort to such measures again but you never know. the gig was phenomenal either way, lots of laughs and even better tunes. each song had more and more people dancing along, with 'touch my bell' being a favourite amongst the crowd. well how can it not be? when lead singer, steph runs around the crowd with an old desk bell and guitarists chuck baby bells at everyone!

now! onto sons of chance, i have never had the pleasure of seeing them perform.. until now! they did an absolutely amazing job of opening for the voodoo pilots. they brought so much energy and fun to the stage, getting everyone hyped up just enough. their front- man Chris was absolutely spectacular at bouncing around the stage and interacting with the audience.

the line up for this gig was perfect, sons of chance brought an amazing rock vibe into play, with very crowd interactive parts to their songs. Chris was very focused on getting the crowd up and moving! getting into the crowd himself many times throughout the show. the drums were spot on bringing a heavier rock sound into play.

it was a stunner of a gig! and I cant wait for these bands to play more. hopefully I'll see you there!
